Jason Busby
3D Animation Guru Extraordinaire

With 15 years experience as a Systems Engineer/Programmer and 10 years experience as an Instructor in 2D and 3D graphics program design, Jason's reputation as an intense, dedicated instructor attracts students from around the world. He is the Director of Animation at The Renaissance Center as well as owner of the popular website 3DBuzz.com. As a certified instructor for Mayaź, 3ds max™, and XSI, Jason has dedicated a large part of his life to helping students learn the art of digital animation. His commitment to students has led to the production of the widely accepted Video Training Magazines (VTMs). Each VTM he produces contains hours of video training and is distributed to thousands of people around the world free of charge.
Jason is also an accomplished writer, having written for 3D Design Magazine and “ The Advanced Special Effects” chapter of the book “Harnessing 3D Studio Max” for Delmar Publishing. He was lead writer for “ Mastering the Art of Production with 3ds max 4” (also published by Delmar), which has been one of this year's top-selling 3ds max books.

Chris Stover
Instructor, Maya & MotionBuilder - Character Animator, Animation Dynamics

Chris was traditionally trained in stop-motion animation with an emphasis on acting for animation while earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Animation from the Art Institute of Portland.
Prior to joining Animation Dynamics, Inc. in 2001 as Lead Animator and Special Effects Artist, Chris worked as a freelance modeler, illustrator and 3D animator for local creative agencies and designers. Chris has worked with clients such as, Sesame Street, Oregon Public Broadcasting, American Film Institute, Portland Trailblazers, ESI and many other local, national and international corporations and agencies.
His prop design work was part of a team that won a Rosey Award in 1999 and recently his animation and modeling work on The GI Joes 200 / Portland Trailblazers “Dot Races” helped Animation Dynamics, Inc. win a 2002 Omni Intermedia Award.

Gary Davis

After earning a BFA in Computer Animation from Ohio's Bowling Green University, Gary toured extensively for three years with electronic recording artists such as The Prodigy, Moby, Dee-Lite and 808 State. During this time he performed FX work and live video-mix shows for many recording industry figures.
From ‘94-99, Davis was heavily involved with the motion simulator (ride film) industry. Davis helped create the first all digital, 3D stereoscopic, 360-degree, panoramic theatre. There are over a dozen patents for the work on these projects.
Past networks that have featured work by Gary include ABC, MTV, FOX, USA and The Sci-Fi Channel. Gary has also done production work for Compaq, Budweiser, Haxan Films, Disney and Universal Studios.
Davis is currently a member of the User Advisory Boards for both 3ds max and combustion and, in addition to teaching and production, he also writes for such publications as the official Discreet Courseware, Post Magazine, 3D Artist, The Mensa Bulletin and Create Magazine. Gary is the author of The Focal Easy Guide to Discreet combustion 3. He is a graphics junky and admits it freely.

Mark Noland
Director of Education - Instructor, Oregon3D

A traditionally trained artist, Mark graduated from the University of Oregon with a BA in fine and applied arts, with a focus on painting and drawing. His interests in design, composition, and motion compelled him to learn 3D animation and compositing while they were still in the Stone Age (DOS).
Mark worked as a digital artist for various agencies and even a game company until 1997, when he started his own company, Mercury Studios, to work as a freelance visual effects artist. Mark has done everything from production to direction, on projects for clients such as Fox Sports, The Golf Channel, Intel, Adidas, and Nike.
